  3. I wonder if anyone can confirm/deny/speculate about this.

  5. I just received some e-mail from Microsoft's Developers' Mailing List where, 
  6. buried amongst some other extraneous info., it was mentioned that Windows NT 
  7. is now (soon to be) available for PowerMacs.  Unless I have totally missed 
  8. what has been going on in this group, I understand that Lightwave 4.0 will run 
  9. under Win/NT.  It would therefore follow that Lightwave 4.0 may/will run on a 
  10. PowerMac.

  12. Since I (like many others) am currently in the market for new hardware 
  13. (platform, PAR, software -- the whole shebang) -- any info. about this would 
  14. be greatly appreciated.

  16. I am aware that DEC Alpha systems running NT have been mentioned, but while 
  17. these speed demons may be suitable for 'rendering farms', I'm currently 
  18. slanted more towards the Mac/PC platforms, as I feel that they are more 
  19. 'multi-purpose' and have more industry support (no flames from DEC users, 
  20. distributors on this group please!)

  22. Up 'til now, I've been I've had my sights on high end Pentium systems 
  23. (P-90's/100's), but the release of Win/NT for the PowerMac and Lightwave 4.0 
  24. compatibility with this setup may persuade me to change my mind...
